Our list of goodies for the month.

IMG_5008

Coupon for free Lean Cuisine Healthy Good Entrée
Value of up to $4.99 – Cool!

IMG_5011

Silk City Snacks Pizzelle Crisps in Chocolate
Retail $19.95 for 20 bags – Sample Value $.99

We were excited to try these.  Then we tasted them…
They are very bitter!  Kind of burnt tasting.
Glad we didn’t buy a big box of these.

IMG_5012

Glee Gum in Triple Berry
Retail $11.95 for 12 boxes – Sample Value $.02

If we chewed gum we would buy more.
All natural and yummy!

IMG_5015

New World Caveman Cookies
Retail $6.25 for box of 8 – Sample Value $1.56

We have friends that love these.
We found them to be too jammy and icky sweet.
Even our kid turned his nose up at them.

IMG_5013

Torie & Howard Organic Hard Candies in D’anjou Pear & Cinnamon and Blood Orange
Retail $54.99 for 5 lbs (that’s a lot!) – Sample Value $.03

If you like hard candy and lollipops these RAWK!!!
Great flavor packed in a tiny candy.
Our kid loved these – so we will be getting some more.
It’s great to find a treat you can feel good about 🙂

IMG_5016 IMG_5018

Vinaigerie Gingras Pixo Pearls
Retail $6.52 for box of 4 – Sample Value $1.63

If you look close at the second picture these resemble fish eggs.
We tasted these with mild cheese on a cracker per their
serving suggestion.

If you love vinegar – you will like these.
They didn’t thrill us – but would be fun to use on snacks for
a cocktail party.  Kind of like using caviar limes – but less fruity.

IMG_5010

Happy Family Happy Squeeze in Blueberry, Apple & Purple Carrot
Retail $21 for box of 12 – Sample Value $1.75

Our kid loves fruit squeezers – they are fun and convenient.
This flavor was not his favorite – and it does have a ton of ingredients.
We tend to gravitate to those with just fruit and maybe a little
citric acid as a stabilizer.

IMG_5009

Dang Toasted Coconut Chips
Retail $32.99 for 12 bags – Sample Value $2.75

Oh My Freaking Gawd!!!!!
These are awesome!

Dang is a great name – because these will surprise you.
Lightly sweet and nutty with great crunch.
Wonderful snack – just wish they were less expensive
We did see them at Safeway – so we will be watching for sales 🙂

IMG_5014

Kind Snacks Kind Bar in Fruit & Nut Delight
Retail $107.50 for box of 96 mini bars – Sample Value $1.12

We have had these before – they’re decent.
This flavor was better than the last one we tried.
For a quick snack they work great.

Total Value for our October Love With Food box – $14.84

Once again we found items we loved and others we are glad we tasted first!
The best part about sample subscription boxes is learning about
products we would not necessarily find on our own
or were afraid to try because there was only a large package to purchase.

Plus, with Love With Food we can feel good about helping a child in need 🙂

Love With Food – September

Yay!
This month our favorite box was curated by celebrity chef, Ming Tsai!
He chose foods that are gluten-free – we had no idea there are so many!
Not only that but Love With Food and Chef Tsai are working
together to help end childhood hunger in our country.

1 in  5 Children in the USA go hungry every day
For every box purchased a meal is given to a child in need!

September Theme: Hunger Action Month

Once again – a great assortment to choose from!

Millies Savory Teas in ‘Indian Spice’ and ‘Spicy Tortilla’
Retail $13.95 for a tin of 15 – Sample Value $1.86

These smell wonderful!  Unfortunately, the flavor isn’t as strong.
We found them way too mild tasting.  We opened one and tried
rubbing it on chicken – thinking we might get more flavor – but it was a no go.

We think if they upped the flavor profile these would be great.

IMG_4886

Dipin Pepper & Artichoke Bruschetta
Retail $17.88 for 12 – Sample Value $1.49

This rocks!  My hubby is not a fan of bruschetta and he gobble this down!
Has a wonderful roasted red pepper flavor that is VERY pronounced!
We plan on getting these for him for work – they are that good!

IMG_4887

Wild Garden Hummus in ‘Roasted Garlic’
Retail $15.99 for 24 – Sample Value $.67

This is great humus!  Love the package – super easy to use.
We are thinking of getting a case of these – they will be great
for snacks and trips.  PS sorry for the canned photo – mine did not turn out.

IMG_4888

Betty Lou’s Fruit Bars in ‘Blueberry’
Retail $16.09 for 12 – Sample Value $1.34

We are not fans of blueberries – so my hubby and I weren’t too
thrilled with this.  Our kid usually likes them – but he didn’t
care for this at all.  If you like blueberries you may dig it
otherwise, we will take a pass on this.

IMG_4889

YumEarth Fruit Snacks in ‘Banana, Cherry, Peach & Strawberry’
Retail $4.49 for 5 – Sample Value $.90

Our kid usually hates gummy candy – which doesn’t break our hearts.
These he loved!  At all but the two we sampled – and couldn’t stand – go figure!
It’s great that they are organic and have vitamins – so we don’t
feel bad letting him eat these.  We may get them as treats.

IMG_4890

Cosmos Creations in ‘Cinnamon Crunch’
Retail $2.49 for 2.5 oz bag – Sample Value $.70 for .7 oz bag

These are odd.  They technically taste good – but if feels like you are
eating a stale cinnamon roll.  It’s not a pleasurable snack.

IMG_4891

Bare Fruit Apple Chips in ‘Cinnamon’
Retail $25.38 for 24 – Sample Value $1.06

They are dehydrated apples.  Nothing special really.  Taste good but we can
make them ourselves with local organic apples.

IMG_4892

Organicasaurus in ‘Cheddar Cheese’
Retail $24 for 16 – Sample Value $1.50

These are tasty and fun.  Our son loved them and they aren’t
super unhealthy.  Nice cheesy corny flavor!

IMG_4893

Licious Organics Raw Cookie in ‘Cherry Berry’
Retail $1.30 – Full Sized Sample

This was hands down our least favorite thing in the box.
It was very gritty and the flavor was cloying.
The kid spit it out if that tells you anything :-/

Total Value for our September Love With Food box – $10.82

This was a nice assortment of snacks for work and for school lunches.
And, as always, we feel good about helping children get a meal!

On a side note – we purchased two subscriptions for friends as
gifts and they love them.  With the holidays coming up this
might be a great gift idea for some on your list that may be
hard to buy for.
