Sharing Great Finds With You!

Birchbox – June

Yay, it’s that time of the month again!
(noooo – not THAT time of the month)
My June Birchbox is here!

June’s Theme:  Wanderlust

I already see a few loves – let’s break it down

The box menu for the month

Super cute postcards.
These would actually be fun in some Ikea frames
and used among framed vacation pictures for a wall collage!

Davines Love Smoothing and Oi Absolute Beautifying Potion
Shampoo – Retail $24 for 250 ml/8.45 fl oz – Sample Value $7.20 for 75 ml/2.5 fl oz
Conditioner – Retail $27.50 for 250 ml/8.45 fl oz – Sample Value $1.32 for 12 ml/.41 fl oz
Oil – Retail $41 for 135 ml/4.56 fl oz – Sample Value $0.91 for 3 ml/.10 fl oz

The salon I go to uses Davines exclusively.  I do love their products and have used these in the past.
However, I don’t care for their shampoos – they don’t clean my scalp very well.
Their conditioners rock!  I have thick/coarse hair with lots of curl and found the Momo
conditioner is my favorite!  The Love is a very close second.

The oil works great – my hair stylist uses it every time I get my hair done
but my husband does not like the smell very much.

LAQA & Co Lil’ Lip Duo
Retail $16 for 2 – Sample Value $8

Whoa!  I was hoping this would be a shear pop of color.
It’s very opaque and kind of clownish looking on me.
The color is a crazy hot pink that looks like my toddler painted my lips.
Not exactly going to inspire passionate kisses from the hubs…

IMG_4115

Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser
Retail $32.95 for 4 fl oz – Sample Value $2.06 for .25 fl oz

I love the use of sugar as an exfoliant – how brilliant!
And a little goes a looooong way.  This tiny tub should last 4 to 5 times!

What I don’t love is the smell…
Imagine having Pledge furniture cleaner smeared on your face.

Also, this is not a very effective cleanser.
But for a scrub every few days it will be great.

Color Club Wanderlust Collection – London Calling
Retail $8 for 4 minis – Sample Value $2

I have to admit I am getting a little used to this colored White Out fad for nails.
This is a fun green color – but I wish I had it back in March
for St. Patrick’s Day!

This is my first time getting Color Club.
I have been using lots of products that are 3, 4, and 5 free
(Butter, Essie, Zoya…)
so the fumes were a shock to the system!

Update:  I got tons of compliments with this color!
Looks great with tan toes!

Total Value for my June Birchbox – $21.49

All-in-all this was a nice assortment with all but one item getting used.

The inserts.

There is one for 40% ready-to-heat meals and another for a wine club.

Walker & Sons “Slap Ya Mama” Cajun Seasoning
Retail $4.99 for 8 oz – Sample Value $.13

A little goes a long way with this!  VERY yummy in our scrambled eggs!!
Also, great used as a rub for chicken.
Our next try – pasta!

IMG_4043

Biscotti Bari Authentic Almond Biscotti
Retail $16 for 8 pieces – Sample Value $2

Great biscotti can turn Folger’s into a yummy treat.
This was okay but not very yummy.  Probably the weakest item in the box.
Nonnie’s (that you can get in bulk at Costco) is better and cheaper.
Sorry Bari!

IMG_4044

Bonne Maman Strawberry Preserves
Retail $4.79 for 13 oz – Sample Value $.37

This is one of those items I see at the grocery store but never tried.
It’s good and the sugars are at 13 g – not the best – but far from the worst.

IMG_4045

The Cookie Department in Great Full
Retail $36 for 12 – 3 oz cookies – Sample Value $3

We loved this!
Checked out their website and we are very curious about the
Awaken Baked cookie.  We may have to invest in a sampler…

IMG_4046

Snapz Crisps in Tomato Crunch
Retail $1.99 for .46 oz

You can eat these like chips.
Even better crumbled into a SW scramble or on top of your next salad!!

IMG_4047

Caffe Borsa Hand Drip Coffee in Sumatra
Retail $17.99 for 16 packets – Sample Value $1.12

This would be great for camping or at a hotel.
Not so much for everyday use.

We have a trip coming up so this will come in handy
the one night we are in a hotel.

IMG_4048

Mrs. May’s Naturals Sunflower Crunch
Retail $3.85 for 5 oz – Sample Value $1.54

This was our “Mystery Item”
Sweet tasting but LOW in sugar!
If you like sunflowers these are a nice treat.

IMG_4049

Bali’s Best Latte Candy
Retail $9.99 for jar of 300 – Sample Value $.07

If you like coffee you will love these!
These would be nice once in a while – but we are not major candy eaters.

Total Value for our May Love With Food box – $10.22

Again – I list the value – however, given all of the good they do
we feel it is a great deal.  And so far we have not been disappointed!
