If you are unfamiliar with Birchbox it is a subscription service for $10 per month that gives you deluxe-sized samples.
The larger samples allow you to decide if a product is right for you and worth the full-size purchase.
Many of the boxes are different from person to person based on what you put in your profile.
So my friends get products suited to their needs and wants and I get products suited to my needs.
At least that is what they tell us 😉
Here is what I received for March. The theme for this box is ‘March Madness’
Let’s break this down
Madewell Nail File
Full Size
Retail $5
Nice to throw in my purse or tote.
Does not look like it will last too long – but good for an emergency chip.
Cute floral pattern!
Caldrea Body Lotion
Aloe Water Apricot – Tea Olive Lime – Coconut Fig Leaf
Foil Packs – 0.25 fl oz each
Retail $22 for 8 oz – Sample Value For All $2.06
Yep, I am with many who complain about the foil packs.
We are paying for ‘deluxe’ samples and foil packs just feel the polar opposite of deluxe.
That whine aside they are descent size – and we get all three scents.
Others may enjoy this lotion – to be honest it made me itch and did not hydrate my skin.
These will be given to some friends to try out and see if they like them or not.
Nick Chavez Color-Savor Shampoo & Conditioner
Shampoo 2 oz – Conditioner 0.33 oz
Retail for Shampoo $22 for 8 oz – Sample Value $5.50
Retail for Conditioner $24 for 8 oz – Sample Value $0.99
I want to like Nick Chavez products – they try so hard to be good.
However, this is the second item I have tried and it dries out my hair. May work for others.
The conditioner sample package was not easy to handle in the shower.
MAKE Face Primer with SPF 30 & MAKE Eyeshadow
Primer 0.18 oz – Eyeshadow 0.03 oz
Primer Retail $30 for 1 oz – Sample Value $5.40
Eyeshadow Retail $18 for 0.10 oz – Sample Value $5.40
The color is ‘Cement’ – and it does look like an itty-bitty sidewalk. Not the most inspiring color.
I didn’t care for the primer – and the color is not my cup of tea. I am not a fan of trying neutrals or colors that play it safe. These will be given to friends who may be interested in trying them out.
I do love the little eyeshadow pallet – it’s pretty cute!
But give me some color!!!
Total Value of my March Birchbox – $24.35
I paid for my subscription and have not been asked to write or been compensated for any of the reviews listed in my blog!
I love that color eyeshadow. Perfect for creating a smokey eye. I just posted the review of my March Birchbox on my blog too. It was the best Birchbox I’ve ever received!

Thank you for your comment and I am so glad you enjoyed your box. I agree that for some the grey color would create a wonderful smokey eye for daytime. However, for me greys are not very complementary with my eyes and skin tone.
